From the International
Regardless of where you stand politically, we believe that union membership is fundamentally tied to civic duty and the democratic process of voting. As recent years have starkly shown, elections have consequences that directly impact IATSE behind-the-scenes entertainment workers and their families. That's why we've updated our IATSE 2024 Voter Toolkit.
This page provides important election information state by state including primary and caucus dates, voter registration and absentee application deadlines, and resources on where to find voter ID requirements, polling locations, etc.
Whether your state requires an excuse or not when requesting an absentee ballot (and where to find a list of acceptable excuses).
When your application to request an absentee ballot must be returned in order to receive a ballot in the mail.
Theres a lot of disinformation out there about voting and you can help be part of the solution by sharing true, verified, and reliable information.

Why this Link?
Discrimination and Harassment Policy
To support each other as equals in the workplace, a working knowledge of our Discrimination and Harassment Policy will help everyone navigate situations where we might feel unsure of what to do. Anytime you see or hear of a questionable behavior write it down. Gather witnesses. Openly watching and listening (and others knowing we are) is a strong deterrent.

Why this Link?
IATSE C.A.R.E.S.
IATSE C.A.R.E.S. (Coronavirus Active Response and Engagement Service) is a new initiative designed to provide support to our most at-risk, elderly, and/or disabled members during the COVID-19 crisis. This website will also be used to provide information about future Mutual Aid efforts from the IATSE.
For example, IATSE CARES creates a buddy system where members in need may sign up to have a volunteer check in with them as often as they choose.
The Behind the Scenes charity issues grants to entertainment technology professionals, or their immediate dependent family, in need due to serious illness or injury that may be used for basic living, medical or funeral expenses, mental health or substance use support. The charity also issues counseling grants to assist with the costs of seeing a therapist or in-patient or out-patient rehabilitation.

Don't Be A Pirate!
Combating online theft and the sale of illegal CDs and DVDs Is nothing short of defending U.S. jobs and benefits. In the case of music, experts estimate that the digital theft of sound recordings costs the U.S. economy $12.5 billion in total output and costs U.S. workers 71,060 jobs. In the motion picture industry, piracy results in an estimated $5.5 billion in lost wages annually, and the loss of an estimated 141,030 jobs that would otherwise have been created.
(Hey... this means don't share your Hulu, Netflix, HBO NOW and other User Names & Passwords too...) Duh!
